About
the appeal
St Thomas is a Grade
A Listed Building by the Department
of the Environment, having originally been
given Grade One status in 1949 when the system
first came into operation.
St
Thomas' was also recently awarded a £75,000
grant by English
Heritage for repairs to the tower.
However,
because of its age it is in continual need of repair
and probably needs something in the region of £750,000
to bring it near to good repair, so we are always
willing to receive donations.
In its first year the appeal has raised over £90,000
and has also been offered a grant of £65,000 by English
Heritage.
